Two stews. One easy way to start. Just add water.
The easiest way to taste Peak Preserved™. The Discovery Duo pairs two Ethiopian classics: Misir Wat, a berbere-spiced red lentil stew, and Ater Kik, a mellow turmeric-spiced yellow split pea stew. Serve them side by side for the contrast Ethiopian tables are known for.
Both are freeze-dried to capture their flavor, aroma and warmth, so you can enjoy an authentic Ethiopian meal in minutes. Made with avocado oil. Plant-based. No preservatives. No seed oils. Four servings in all.
What's in the Duo
- Misir Wat: Ethiopian Red Lentil Stew. Bold and rich, with a gentle berbere warmth. 11g protein per serving.

Each box is 3 oz (85 g) and makes 2 servings.
How to use
Serve it your way: scoop it with injera, spread it, or dip it. Try it over rice, in a grain bowl, over nachos, or as a sandwich spread. Prepare each box on its own.
Stovetop
- Bring 1 cup (240 ml) of water to a boil in a small pot.
- Open pouch and discard the white freshness sachet. Empty contents into the pot.
- Stir well, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with injera, rice, or enjoy as you like.
Microwave
- Open pouch and discard the white freshness sachet.
- Empty contents into a microwave-safe bowl and add 1 cup (240 ml) of water.
- Stir well and microwave for 2 minutes.
- Cover and let stand for 3 minutes.
- Stir and serve hot with injera, rice, or enjoy as you like.
Pro tip: For a richer finish, stir in niter kibbeh, plant-based butter, or a drizzle of olive oil. Make it a full Ethiopian meal with 100% teff injera.

Good to know
What is the packet inside? An oxygen absorber (freshness sachet), a small white packet. It keeps the stew fresh in the pouch. Do not eat it. Take it out and throw it away before cooking.
Is it spicy? Misir Wat has a gentle berbere warmth, not a burn. Ater Kik is mild, with warm turmeric and ginger. For more heat, add a sliced jalapeno in the last minute of cooking.
